BSL Teaching Assistant – Birmingham

Essential qualification: BSL Level 1 minimum; Level 2 or above preferred

Transform Education Recruitment UK is recruiting Teaching Assistants with British Sign Language skills for Birmingham schools.

The role

• Support deaf pupils’ access to classroom learning and activities.
• Use BSL within your competence and follow pupils’ communication plans.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive peer relationships.
• Work closely with teachers and specialist staff.
• Help create an inclusive learning environment.

You will need

• A minimum of BSL Level 1; Level 2 or above is preferred.
• A commitment to deaf awareness and inclusion.
• Patience, clear communication and a willingness to develop your skills.

Experience supporting deaf children is desirable. Please state your BSL qualification level and relevant experience when applying. Matching will reflect each pupil’s communication needs.
